GCPA Spring Conference 2011 Exhibit

CCET showcased Discovery Across Texas - a ARRA smart grid demonstration project at the GCPA Spring Conference 2011. There was great interest in CCET's smart grid regional demonstration project! Jaime Medina of Electric Power Group presented the Synchrophasor Technology component of the Project. Synchrophasor Technology maintains the ERCOT grid by indentifying disturbances especially those related to wind resource events. Craig Lobel of EcoEdge presented EcoDog's FIDO Home Energy Monitor in place at the Discovery Center located at Discovery at Spring Trials - Texas Smart Grid Community. EcoDog's FIDO Home Energy Monitor provides a new level of visibility to electricity consumption that gives homeowners unprecedented power over their energy use with unique room-by-room views of where their energy dollars are spent. Dr. Milton Holloway of CCET was on hand to discuss the overall objectives of the Project.

CCET Webinar Series Jointly with Brown McCaroll, L.P.P.

CCET and Brown McCarroll, L.P.P. will be holding three-part series of free webinars focused on Smart Grid Texas Style: The Uniqueness of the ERCOT Electricity Market.

Session # 1: Deployment of Large-Scale Renewable Resources in ERCOT - held on December 10th.
Session # 2: The Promise of Residential Demand Response in the ERCOT Market
Session # 3: Technology Solutions for Wind Intergration in ERCOT - the Discovery Across Texas project

  • The status of CREZ tranmission permitting and construction
  • Grid dynamics with 20% non-dispatchable resources
  • Regulatory challenges and opportunities with respect to renewable resource deployment
