November 1-2, 2007

The CCET Board of Directors met in Executive Session on November 1, 2007 Hyatt at Lost Pines, Austin, Texas. The Board discussed a policy of collaboration with DOE and EPRI, reviewed the process for developing new ideas, agreed that CCET should file comments in regulatory proceedings and otherwise communicate about the issues before the PUC, accepted a financial report and adopted a budget for the quarter. The Board agreed to adopt a new member policy, heard a presentation about AEP’s smart grid initiative, and a status report on the DR Pilot project.

The CCET Board met in open session on November 2, 2007 at Hyatt at Lost Pines, Austin, Texas. Twenty-eight members and guests were present. The Board heard briefing on the energy bill in the U.S. Congress, heard a plan presented for generating project ideas for CCET, entertained proposals for creating of a smart grid lab, transmission back-scatter sensors, real-time dynamic stability analysis using distributed computing, advanced compressed air energy storage demonstration project, and an energy storage study proposal. The Board also heard status reports on on-going projects including Distribution RTU, and Synchronized Sampling.

July 24-25, 2007

The CCET Board of Directors met in Executive Session at Bell Ranch Steak House of The Hilton Hotel in College Station, Texas on July 24, 2007. The Board received a draft Anti Trust Policy statement for review by company attorneys. It was reported by the Membership Committee that LCRA and e-Meter have joined as affiliate members and that CellNet has indicated an interest in joining and has attended a TAG meeting. Seven new members have joined since the first of the year. Rick Shumard attended the meeting to represent the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Mr. Shumard of EPRI was a guest at the meeting and discussed the history of EPRI and industry events that led to its creation in 1973. His visit was to initiate a working relationship with EPRI as CCET was developing a more consistent process of developing new project ideas, including establishing working relationships with other groups. A communication plan was adopted for use by the group involved in the DR Pilot project. The financial report was adopted and a budget accepted for the quarter.

The CCET Board met in open session on July 25, 2007, at the TAMU Clayton Williams Alumni Center in College Station. National and state legislative initiatives were discussed and presentations were made concerning a project idea generation plan, a smart grid lab, a project to promote the CIM Standard for the distribution system, a street lamp sensor project and an energy storage project. Ongoing projects reports were presented including the demand response pilot, the distribution RTU, the synchronized sampling project and the smart meter enhancement project.

April 18, 2007

The CCET Board of Directors met in Executive Session at the UT Club at The University of Texas at Austin. IBM was elected to the Board of Directors, Dr. Ben Streetman, Dean of Engineering at UT Austin, was elected to the Board of Directors as an Advisor Director, and Good Company was recognized as an Affiliate member. A report was presented by Phil Wilson of Governor Perry´s Office and Chairman Paul Hudson of the Texas Public Utilities Commission presented his view of the future of the electric energy sector.

A status report on DR Pilot was presented by Bob Pohl of Fowler Energy Company and Jay Zarnikau of Frontier Associates. The Board approved funding for the RTU Project Phase I. Discussion led to new plans for strengthening the CCET relationship with Texas universities.

February 21, 2007

The CCET Board of Directors met in a conference call meeting to consider further developments on the DR Pilot project. A decision to fund the project was approved, subject to final approval of contract arrangements to implement the project.

January 11, 2007

The CCET Board of Directors met in Austin, Texas at Austin Energy Headquarters in an all-day meeting. The Board heard status reports on ongoing projects, and entertained proposals on a number of other projects. John Hanks of National Instruments made a presentation on the components of commercialization entitled "From Concept to Product". The group discussed CCET‚s relationship with Other Collaborative Organizations, especially EPRI.

Considerable discussion followed a presentation by Good Company regarding a plan for a Texas Demand Response Pilot project. The Technical Advisory Group presented status reports on several proposals including RTU Design, and Smart Meters Enhancement. Approximately 35 people attended the meeting.

The general meeting was followed by an Executive Session to attend to business matters of the organization.
